Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Archewell hires Disney+ alum to head unscripted
Archewell Productions, the company set up by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, has hired former Disney+ exec Chanel Pysnik as head of unscripted.
Reporting to the prodco’s head of content, Ben Browning, Pysnik, who started in May, takes oversight of all non-fiction series and film productions, working closely with Netflix, which inked a multi-year deal with the British royals last year.
Pysnik served as the director on international content for Disney+, where she helped to launch the streamer globally, as well as overseeing its unscripted content for all non-US markets.
Prior to Disney+, the exec spent six years at CNN leading development on CNN and HLN originals, including the Disney+ show Save Our Squad and American Dynasties: The Kennedys and The Story Of Late Night for CNN.
Archewell Productions was launched last September with a focus on “creating content that informs but also gives hope,” with the first two projects announced under its Netflix deal being docuseries Heart Of Invictus and the recently unveiled animated adventure series Pearl.
