ViacomCBS names Sean Gupta as SVP streaming strategy
ViacomCBS has appointed BET exec Sean Gupta as SVP of streaming strategy.
Gupta began the role last week, reporting to Jeff Shultz, chief strategy officer and chief business development officer for ViacomCBS’ streaming division.
ViacomCBS streaming services include Paramount+, BET+, Pluto TV, Noggin and the upcoming Comcast joint venture, SkyShowtime.
He moves across from his role as SVP of strategy and business operations BET Networks, which he began in 2019 and where he co-led the executive team that developed and launched the BET+ streaming service.
He was also part of the team that negotiated the joint venture deal with Tyler Perry Studios.
Gupta originally joined BET’s program planning, scheduling & acquisitions team in 2015, where he oversaw initiatives to reach programming and viewership goals. Before that, he served in executive roles at Time Warner Cable and Deutsche Bank.
