Propagate Int’l appoints ITVS exec Isabelle Azoulay to head formats
LA-based producer and distributor Propagate International has appointed ITV Studios exec Isabelle Azoulay as EVP and head of formats.
Based in Amsterdam and reporting to Propagate Content International president Cyrus Farrokh, Azoulay will lead Propagate’s global formats business, overseeing sales and acquisitions.
She joins the company from ITV Studios Global Entertainment where she was SVP of licensing for non-scripted for Europe and Latin America. She previously served as SVP of licensing at Talpa Global, overseeing non-scripted formats in Europe and Latin America and scripted format sales worldwide. She also held roles at Calt Distribution and TF1 International.
“Propagate International is experiencing robust growth globally across international sales, formats and production. Isabelle’s experience in scripted and non-scripted format sales and acquisitions will be a critical component in the next phase of our international growth. I am excited to bring her in as part of our international leadership team,” said Farrokh.
“I am thrilled to be joining Propagate International at such an exciting time for the content and distribution ecosystem,” added Azoulay.
Aside from Azoulay’s appointment, Propagate has also promoted Catalina Ramirez to VP of sales and acquisitions. Based in Los Angeles, Ramirez joined Propagate in 2020 and is the lead of partnerships among local Spanish-speaking production companies. She previously held roles at Magnolia Pictures and Gunpowder & Sky.
Dan Thunell has also been promoted to director of sales and development responsible for MENA and Eastern Europe. Also based in Los Angeles, Thunell manages Propagate’s local production international pipeline. He joined Propagate in 2017 as part of the company’s development team and moved to the company’s International department in 2019.
Farrokh praised both for the role that they had plated in growing the company and commented: “I look forward to their continued contribution to the expansion of our business.”
