A+E Studios hires exec trio in scripted boost
US-based A+E Studios has hired former Amazon Studios production exec Lucia Gervino as head of production among a slew of appointments to boost its scripted leadership.
The studio has also brought on veteran production and distribution executive TPaul Miller as SVP of strategy and operations and producer Tom Lerner as VP of creative affairs. Finance exec Valerie Miller has meanwhile been promoted to SVP and head of production finance.
All will be based in Los Angeles.
Gervino will oversee all original scripted productions, both series and movies, with current series on the slate including the ABC drama Big Sky and Netflix legal show The Lincoln Lawyer.
While at Amazon Studios, she worked on shows including fantasy adaptations The Lord Of The Rings and The Wheel Of Time, superhero drama The Boys and sci-fi series The Expanse.
Before joining Amazon, Gervino was an executive producer and head of production for Vision Entertainment and BET networks, and also served as head of production and post-production at the Syfy Channel during a near-decade tenure.
Miller, meanwhile, will work closely with A+E Studios president Barry Jossen and the rest of the executive team to develop and implement the company’s business strategy and daily operations.
He previously served as head of international distribution finance for Warner Bros and worked at Amazon, where he played a major role in Prime’s international expansion initiative.
Lerner is tasked with overseeing development and production of the A+E Studios scripted slate across all platforms, including streaming, broadcast and cable. Before joining the company, he served as VP of TV at Landscape Entertainment.
