Africa’s Universal TV & Hong Kong’s Now TV snags ‘Leverage: Redemption’
NBCUniversal International Networks (NBCUIN) and Now TV in Hong Kong have acquired rights to Electric Entertainment’s drama, Leverage: Redemption.
NBCUIN has taken linear and SVOD rights to the show for its Universal TV service in Africa, while Now TV in Hong Kong has acquired SVOD rights for its new subscription streaming service, Now Studio.
The 16-part first season debuted on IMDb TV in the US earlier this year, with exclusive SVOD and AVOD rights then acquired by its counterpart service in the UK, which launched in September. The show debuted in the UK in October.
The crime drama is a reimagining of Electric Entertainment’s drama Leverage, which ran for five seasons on US cablenet TNT until 2012. The reboot is sold by LA-based Electric Entertainment.
