London TV Screenings 2022 dates to clash with BBCS Showcase
All3Media International, Banijay Rights, eOne, Fremantle and ITV Studios have confirmed that next year’s London TV Screenings will be a physical event – with dates that coincide with BBC Studios Showcase.
London TV Screenings will take place from 28 February to 4 March 2022 and marks the first on-the-ground gathering for the UK-based distributors, after the 2021 event went virtual as a result of the pandemic.
BBCS, meanwhile, is planning on holding its Showcase event online from 28 February to 2 March. A physical event was ruled out by the Doctor Who and Top Gear distributor in July.
All3, Banijay, eOne, Fremantle and ITVS have worked together informally for several years to ensure their respective sales and screenings events do not clash, but the formation of the London TV Screenings brand last year marked the first time the quintuplet had formally joined forces.
Organisers said their London-based event would offer “a series of in-person events from the individual companies in Spring 2022, packed with exclusive content, bespoke sessions and chances to connect with world-class programme-makers.”
The event will take place across a number of as-yet undisclosed locations, with the five larger distributors adding that they “very much expect” more distributors to join.
A London TV Screenings spokesperson said: “The London TV Screenings are back having already carved out a significant reputation as a key destination for buyers worldwide.
“It makes perfect sense that we can work collaboratively to curate quality shows and avoid in-person screening conflicts to showcase all the latest scripted, non-scripted and formats programmes.
Last year’s London TV Screenings launched on 1 March following on from Showcase, which took place online-only from 22-24 February.
