Amazon hires ViacomCBS exec Kelly Day to lead international streaming
Amazon has hired ViacomCBS exec Kelly Day to lead its international streaming operations.
Day will take up the newly created role of VP of Prime Video International from January and reports into Mike Hopkins, SVP of Prime Video and Amazon Studios.
She will work with Amazon’s myriad regional divisions and country directors on programming and content strategy. Her remit includes oversight of SVOD, TVOD and its Prime Video Channels business.
In a memo to staff, Hopkins said Day would “provide single-threaded business leadership for [Amazon] in our existing and new locales worldwide.”
Day was most recently president at ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI), a role she took up last year that saw her working across the international roll-out of its streaming service Paramount+.
She had previously been president of Viacom Digital Studios (VDS) having joined the company in 2017 from AwesomenessTV, which was then acquired by Viacom in 2018.
