Beyond, Blue Ant, Studiocanal & Cineflix among distributors joining London TV Screenings
Studiocanal, Beyond Rights, Blue Ant International and Cineflix Rights are among a swathe of distributors to have formally joined London TV Screenings, which is set to take place early next year.
The quartet join event organisers All3Media International, Banijay Rights, eOne, Fremantle and ITV Studios, which earlier this month confirmed that next year’s London-based event would take place in person from 28 February to 4 March 2022.
DCD Rights, Hat Trick International and Passion Distribution have also confirmed they are joining the event, which will mark the first on-the-ground gathering for the UK-based distributors, after the 2021 event went virtual as a result of the pandemic.
All3, Banijay, eOne, Fremantle and ITVS have worked together informally for several years to ensure their respective sales and screenings events do not clash, but the formation of the London TV Screenings brand last year marked the first time the quintuplet had formally joined forces.
The week-long series of events, which will take place at the same time as BBC Studios’ online-only Showcase event, will take place at various, as-yet unspecified, locations.
Organisers said their London-based event would offer “a series of in-person events from the individual companies in Spring 2022, packed with exclusive content, bespoke sessions and chances to connect with world-class programme-makers.”
A London TV Screenings spokesperson said: “The London TV Screenings has now become a real focus for international buyers who we know are eager to engage with as many distributors as possible during their Spring visit to the UK.
“The addition of these seven distributors to the schedule makes the London week even more compelling. With all our customers in mind, we are working together as a group and in consultation with each other, to co-ordinate a curated programme which will avoid timing conflicts and ensure all our clients have the opportunity to see the very best new content and meet with our teams in central London.”
Organisers said further distributors are expected to join in the coming weeks. Full details of individual plans, dates and times will be revealed in the coming weeks, organisers said.
