‘Fantastic Four’s Tim Story strikes eOne deal, hires Freeform & ABC alum

Hasbro-owned Entertainment One (eOne) has struck a first-look deal with Fantastic Four director Tim Story and his prodco The Story Company, which has hired a former ABC exec to oversee the pact.

The agreement will see Story and eOne develop TV shows for all platforms, with the deal reuniting the film director and eOne global TV president Michael Lombardo.

Story, who has been behind TV shows including Queens for ABC in the US, previously held a first-look deal at HBO, where Lombardo headed up programming before moving to eOne.

The Story Company has hired Freeform and ABC alum Lynn Barrie to lead on the first-look agreement, with the exec appointed as head of TV.

She was most recently SVP of originals and development at Freeform, with credits on dramas including Motherland: Fort Salem and Cruel Summer.

Story said: “Michael and I have a long history and it feels so great to be back in business again. I believe with the team that I’ve assembled we can deliver some great programming.”

Lombardo described Story as “a remarkably talented director and producer who has created some of Hollywood’s most beloved films.”
