Propagate’s Greg Lipstone resurfaces at American Song Contest
Veteran producer Greg Lipstone, the former president of Propagate Content, has been appointed as president and COO of US-based prodco American Song Contest.
The firm is one of the production companies behind the upcoming NBC reality series of the same name, which is set to debut on 21 March.
Based on the Eurovision Song Contest, the new NBC singing competition series will feature artists from all US states and territories competing for the title of ‘best original song.’ Hosted by Kelly Clarkson and Snoop Dogg, the series is produced by Lipstone’s former firm, Propagate Content, and Universal TV Alternative Studio.
In his new role at American Song Contest, Lipstone, who serves as an exec producer on the series, will be responsible for growing the Eurovision Song Contest brand internationally, expanding into new markets and identifying new production and broadcast partners. He will also join the company’s executive management team.
Lipstone exited the Ben Silverman and Howard Owens-led Propagate Content in September 2021 following a three-year stint during which he worked on American Song Contest and other series such as TBS’ The Go Big Show.
Since his departure, he has been working with Propagate on international sales for the series, which has sold to broadcasters in Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Greece and Serbia.
Prior to Propagate, Lipstone spent three years as CEO of All3Media America and previously served as an agent at US-based ICM for more than 10 years and before that spent two decades at rival WME.
“Greg’s unique profile with a combination of entrepreneurship and experience makes him the perfect complement to further expand the American Song Contest footprint,” said Peter Settman, CEO of American Song Contest.
