Swedish streamer C More boards Icelandic drama ‘As Long As We Live’
Swedish SVOD platform C More has boarded Icelandic drama series As Long As We Live, following a deal with distributor Eccho Rights.
The streamer will partner with Icelandic producers Glassriver and broadcaster Stod 2 on the relationship drama, which is now greenlit to go into production this summer.
The series is created by and will star Aníta Briem (The Tudors, The Minister), with the series inspired by her own personal story. Starring opposite Briem will be Swedish actor Martin Wallström (Mr Robot), while Katrín Björgvinsdóttir (Trapped) is attached to direct all six episodes.
Hordur Runarsson, producer and co-owner of Glassriver, commented: “As Long As We Live wraps its arms around you and doesn‘t let go. Aníta Briem‘s immaculate and sensual writing won‘t leave anyone untouched.
“With Aníta Briem‘s and Martin Wallström‘s incredible onscreen capabilities in the talented hands of director Katrín Björgvinsdottir – you are in for a treat.”
Piodor Gustafsson, Nordic drama director for C More and TV4 Media, added: “We are really happy to partner on this great project. It’s one of the very best series we’ve been presented the last couple of years.”
CJ ENM-owned distributor Eccho Rights plans to bring the completed series to MIPCOM in October 2022.
