Tomorrow Studios inks first-look deal with Frank Spotnitz’s Big Light
US-based Tomorrow Studios has inked a first-look deal with Frank Spotnitz’s UK indie Big Light Productions.
The agreement will see Tomorrow “tap into Big Light’s network of established and emerging writers, and pursuit of sought after-IP” to expand both companies’ development slates.
Tomorrow, which is a partnership between CEO and founder Marty Adelstein and ITV Studios, is behind series including TNT’s Snowpiercer, HBO Max’s 10-Year-Old Tom and Netflix’s live-action remake of Cowboy Bebop.
Big Light, meanwhile, is behind series including The Man In The High Castle for Amazon Prime Video, as well as the Rai 1 shows Medici and Leonardo. Spotnitz was also executive producer and writer on horror drama The X-Files and worked on its spin-offs The Lone Gunmen and Millennium.
Spotnitz and creative director Emily Feller will oversee the partnership for Big Light, while this latest deal follows Tomorrow’s recent first-look agreement with Julia Garner and her production company, Alma Margo.
Spotnitz and Feller said that it is “no surprise that so many people love working with them [Tomorrow Studios] – they’re incredibly smart, driven and share our commitment to making television that’s truly worth watching.”
