Saloon Media ups new head of unscripted development & hires production exec
Blue Ant-owned Canadian prodco Saloon Media has upped Nick Crowe to head of unscripted development and hired Tara Elwood as production executive.
Reporting to MD Michael Kot, Crowe will now lead Saloon’s development team as it expands its unscripted portfolio in North America and internationally, with a focus on factual entertainment, formats and specials.
Crowe’s previous credits for Saloon include Encounter: UFO and UFO Town, while prior to joining the company three years ago, he held roles at History Channel in Canada, and Shaw Media.
Elwood, meanwhile, joins Saloon in a full-time capacity, having worked with the company before on as a producer on numerous projects including Mysteries From Above, See No Evil and Life Below Zero: Canada.
Reporting to recently promoted SVP of production, Betty Orr, Elwood will now develop and produce content for the North American and international markets
Her previous production credits also include the Race For The White House for CNN and RAW TV, Nazi Hunters for National Geographic, Manson for History and CBC’s Canada: The Story Of Us.
Saloon recently partnered with Bullrush Pictures on a new half-hour workplace comedy, Hospital Show, based on the web series of the same name, while other recent credits include Canada’s Drag Race, 9/11 Kids and Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer.
