Amazon cancels sci-fi drama ‘Night Sky’ after one season
Amazon’s Prime Video SVOD service has cancelled sci-fi drama series Night Sky after just one season.
The series, which was co-produced by Amazon Studios and Legendary Television, launched all eight episodes of its first – and now only – season on 20 May.
Night Sky starred Sissy Spacek and JK Simmons as an aging couple who have spent years hiding a mysterious chamber that leads to a strange, deserted planet in their back yard.
However, everything changes when an enigmatic young man enters their lives and leads them to question what they thought they knew about their incredible discovery.
The series was created and co-executive produced by Holden Miller, with Daniel C. Connolly serving as showrunner and executive producer, alongside Jimmy Miller, Sam Hansen and Philip Martin.
Its cast also included Chai Hansen, Kiah McKirnan, Julieta Zylberberg, Rocío Hernández and Adam Bartley.
