RTL Germany lands ‘Dark Woods’ producers for true crime drama

RTL in Germany has unveiled a two-part drama from the team behind Dark Woods, which explores the work of Hamburg’s special response force. 

Sonderlage (working title) is made up of 2 x 90-minute shows and is inspired by true events, exploring how the police respond to hostile attacks, kidnappings and hostage-taking. It is being shot in Hamburg and Berlin, with ConradFilm and Bavaria Fiction producing.

The show will debut on RTL next year and will be exec produced by Marc Conrad from ConradFilm, with Lucia Staubach and Maren Knieling for Bavaria Fiction.

ConradFilm and Bavaria Fiction landed on a hit last year with Dark Woods, which follows the true life events surrounding a double murder in Saxony. It was produced for Das Erste and has since sold to All4 in the UK and C More in the Nordics.
