HBO Max Spain seeks ‘The Traitors’
HBO Max has ordered a local adaptation of psychological adventure format The Traitors for Spain.
The eight-part series is being produced by Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia), where it will play locally as Traitors España, hosted by actor and director Sergio Peris-Mencheta.
Originally developed by idtv and All3Media for RTL4 in the Netherlands, The Traitors sees 18 celebrities come together in an atmospheric castle with a mission to complete a series of challenges with the objective of earning a cash prize. But the catch is three of them are chosen to be traitors, and they must devise a plan to steal the prize instead of sharing it among the rest.
This latest order follows commissions for the format in the UK, the US, Norway, France Belgium and Australia.
All3Media International is distributing the format worldwide and will sell the tape version of the UK, US and Australian adaptations.
WBD & AMC call ‘Code 1’
Warner Bros. Discovery in the UK, AMC Networks International for Spain and Portugal, SBS in Belgium and TVNZ have all acquired Australian docuseries Code 1: Minute By Minute.
Originally produced by WTFN for Seven Network, the 8 x 60-minute series (which has a second season in production) breaks down the hours, minutes, and seconds of the biggest and most tragic recent news events to impact Australia and profiles the people from all walks of life who will forever be connected, just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Karen Connell, Fred Media’s senior sales manager for UK & Western Europe, was responsible for the UK, Spain/Portugal and Belgian deals. She commented: “While it focuses on very specific Australian news events of recent years, the personal stories are universal, totally absorbing and will resonate with viewers everywhere.”

UK pubcaster the BBC has ordered a new entertainment series, That’s My Jam, for BBC One and VOD service BBC iPlayer.
Produced by Universal International Studios’ Monkey, in partnership with Universal Television Alternative Studio, the 8 x 60-minute series is hosted by British stand-up comedian Mo Gilligan and based on the original US show hosted by Jimmy Fallon, which draws inspiration from the musical segments on NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Kate Phillips, director of unscripted at the BBC, said: “With marvellous Mo Gilligan leading proceedings, That’s My Jam will see competitive celebrities facing off like never before, in a series of musical games guaranteed to provide a multitude of surprises and singalong moments!”
