Amazon Prime Video names France acquisitions manager after Isabelle Bertrand exit
Amazon Prime Video in France has named Sahar Baghery as its new head of content acquisitions, replacing Isabelle Bertrand.
Baghery has been at the streamer since 2018, joining as business development chief for France and MENA and most recently leading EMEA programming for Amazon Studios.
She has also worked with the France-based Authors and Composers Society, where she took part in negotiations between producers’ and authors’ guilds, and had stints with Nielsen, CNN International, NBCUniversal, Walt Disney Company France and Canal+ Group.
Baghery will report into Amazon Prime Video country manager Brigitte Ricou-Bellan, who oversees operations for Prime Video in France, and has a remit to acquire shows across all genres.
She will also work on international coproduction deals and is also tasked with acquiring movies for the streamer. Baghery will also work with the country’s originals team, led by Thomas Dubois. He continues to report into Georgia Brown, who heads up Amazon’s Europe-wide originals efforts.
Bertrand, meanwhile, left last month to launch new venture, Media Twist, following five years with the company. Prior to that, she had worked at Warner Bros. and Vivendi, among others.
