Samsung refreshes FAST service TV Plus, extends content deals with BBCS, A+E & more
Samsung is rebooting its FAST TV service, Samsung TV Plus, and has struck expanded content partnerships with A+E Networks, The E.W. Scripps Company and BBC Studios.
The company said its FAST service currently offers more than 1,600 channels globally across 24 countries and 465 million devices, claiming that users have streamed shows for nearly 3 billion hours over the past 12 months.
The rebrand will bring a refreshed news offering from ABC News Live, CBS News, LiveNOW from Fox, and NBC News NOW, while the company also said that it plans to double its overall VOD library in 2023 via new and expanded partnerships with Lionsgate, Vice Media, and others.
Partnerships with A+E, The E.W. Scripps Company and BBCS have also been extended, with the latter launching a new channel dedicated to Top Gear, marking BBCS’s fifth channel on the platform.
Sang Kim, SVP of product and marketing, Samsung Electronics, said: “Our new look, programming and partnerships come at a time when many consumers are overwhelmed by a myriad of monthly bills and subscriptions. We are proud not only to manufacture quality devices, but ones that provide additional value through instant and free access to entertainment spanning movies, music, news, art, gaming, health and more.”
