Dandelooo adapts Dorothée de Monfreid’s ‘Les Toutous’ as kids’ series
French animation production and distribution company Dandelooo is adapting Dorothée de Monfreid’s book series Les Toutous into a children’s series.
The 78 x 7-minute 2D animated series, A Day With The Dogs, is being showcased at Cartoon Forum next week, and is aimed at 4-7-year-olds and co-produced by Dandelooo and Barcelona-based audiovisual production company Teidees.
Directed by Cédric Guarneri, the series follows the adventures of a Saint-Bernard, Popov, who is overwhelmed by his troop of crazy pooch cousins. Each episode takes place over the space of a day, during which the pooches are confronted with a simple problem or desire: to take a photograph, get rid of a flea, or go to the beach… Except that for every simple problem, the pooches always manage to find complicated solutions.
Emmanuèle Pétry, co-founder of Dandelooo, said: “We are very proud that the talented and successful creator, Dorothée de Monfreid, has chosen Dandelooo as the producer for her first adaptation to an animated series. A Day With The Dogs (Les Toutous), rooted in the Normandy countryside, has a worldwide appeal thanks to the character driven stories about a bunch of cousins on holiday.”
