LA prodco Anchor Entertainment bolsters creative team

L-R: Keayr Braxton, Dan Baglio & Sam DeVaney

LA-based prodco Anchor Entertainment has appointed Keayr Braxton as SVP of current production, while also promoting Sam DeVaney to manager of development, and hiring Dan Baglio as SVP of development.

DeVaney will report to Baglio, while both Braxton and Baglio both will report directly to company founder and CEO Ethan Goldman.

In her new role, Braxton is responsible for managing Anchor’s production slate of series and documentaries, which includes projects for MSNBC, AMC and Discovery+.

Braxton previously served as showrunner on the first two seasons of docuseries The Lost Kitchen for Magnolia/Discovery+ and the recently launched Model America for MSNBC. Her other credits include 60 Days In for A&E, House Of DVF for E!, The Great Holiday Baking Show for ABC and Released for OWN.

Baglio, meanwhile, will develop and produce original series and feature documentaries for streamers and cable networks. He joins from Pulse Films, where he served as SVP of original programming and development, working on series and features for VICE, including Vice Versa: College $ports, Inc, Betraying the Badge, and Too Soon: Comedy After 9/11.

Prior to that, Baglio spent several years at Herzog & Company as VP of original programming and development, working on series and specials such as The History of Comedy for CNN, College Football 150: The American Game for ESPN and Dirty John: The Dirty Truth for Oxygen.

DeVaney joined Anchor last year, working on projects including HBO Max’s two-part docuseries Undercurrent: The Disappearance Of Kim Wall. Previously, she worked at Critical Content and at WarnerMedia’s former cult-comedy platform Super Deluxe, where she developed and produced daily livestreams with up-and-coming comedic talent.

Formerly housed within Anchor Worldwide, Anchor Entertainment recently launched independently under the direction of producer Ethan Goldman. Its slate includes home-design series Capturing Home for Magnolia, the four-part series Model America for MSNBC/Peacock, Look into My Eyes for AMC and History’s Greatest Heists with Pierce Brosnan for History.

Anchor is also in production on multiple projects including the third season of The Lost Kitchen for Magnolia and an untitled documentary that revisits the career of journalist Dan Rather.

“Keayr and Dan are both accomplished storytellers whose passion for their craft is central to our continued growth within the premium space, and Sam has proven herself to be a talented development executive in her own right,” said Goldman. “With this dynamic team in place, we’re setting ourselves up for even greater success as we head into the company’s next chapter.”
