Lionsgate TV chairman Kevin Beggs inks multi-year contract extension
Lionsgate TV Group chairman and chief content integration officer Kevin Beggs has inked a multi-year contract renewal.
The extension follows a successful 12 months for the studio, which has seen 14 new show commissions and 15 renewals, including Ghosts for CBS, Home Economics for ABC and Welcome To Flatch at Fox, as well as an order for an untitled comedy series from Mike O’Malley for NBC in the past few days.
Fellow Lionsgate execs including EVP and head of scripted development Scott Herbst, EVP and head of current programming Lee Hollin; DVP of scripted development Jocelyn Sabo; and CEO Jon Feltheimer have all likewise extended their contracts in recent weeks.
“Kevin and his team have done a great job in building Lionsgate Television into a world-class supplier of valuable premium content to buyers throughout the ecosystem,” said Feltheimer.
“Kevin is a trusted partner whose entrepreneurial, innovative and collaborative approach reflects our culture at its best. Under his leadership, our television business is positioned to continue growing its profitability and strengthening its respected brand.”
Lionsgate is currently in the process of separating Starz and its studio business. While it had previously indicated that it was looking to spin off Starz, the company recently told investors that it is now likely to explore spinning off the studio business instead.
