Wiip gets ‘The Memo’, options upcoming novel for screen

Mare Of Easttown producer Wiip has optioned upcoming novel The Memo following what the company describes as “a heated bidding war.”

The novel, co-written by former Wall Street Journal reporters Rachel Dodes and Lauren Mechling, will be developed for television by Wiip in collaboration with Lean Machine, the production company headed by screenwriter and director Aline Brosh McKenna.

The Memo tells the story of a 30-something woman whose mounting suspicion that she never “got the memo” is confirmed, and she’s given the chance to travel back in time and fix her worst mistakes. The book will be published by Harper Perennial in 2024.

Wiip’s Paul Lee and Mark Roybal will executive produce, alongside Aline Brosh McKenna, Heather Morris, Rachel Dodes, and Lauren Mechling.
