Sky snags European rights to Paramount+ drama ‘Last King Of The Cross’
Sky has picked up buzzy MIPCOM drama Last King Of The Cross across its European footprint.
The Australian drama, which is produced by Mark Fennessy’s year-old prodco Helium, will air exclusively on Sky Atlantic in Italy, the UK, Ireland and Germany.
The 10-part series is sold by Cineflix Rights and was produced for Paramount+ in Australia. It was inspired by John Ibrahim’s autobiography and charts his rise from a poverty-stricken immigrant with no education, no money and no prospects, to the country’s most infamous nightclub mogul.
The drama stars Lincoln Younes (Grand Hotel, Tangle), Claude Jabbour (Eden, Stateless) and Tim Roth (She-Hulk, Lie to Me) and follows Lebanese-born teenager John and his older brother Sam, who quickly find themselves drawn to the glittering lights of the Cross.
James Durie, head of scripted at Cineflix Rights, said: “Last King Of The Cross is a key launch for us at MIPCOM so I’m thrilled to be closing this pre-sale with Sky.”
