Boat Rocker hires Fifth Season & HBO alum for America sales
Boat Rocker has appointed former Fifth Season and HBO exec Dan Selig as SVP of content sales, where he will play a “key role” in the distribution of scripted and documentary content in the US and Latin America.
Selig joins Boat Rocker from Fifth Season (fka Endeavor Content) where he was SVP of sales for the Americas. In that role, he led direct sales of Fifth Season programming to linear broadcasters and SVOD platforms based in the Americas. Prior to this, Selig spent more than 15 years at HBO in progressively senior sales roles.
Selig will be based in Boat Rocker’s New York office and report into Jon Rutherford, president, Boat Rocker Studios, rights. He commented: “I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Boat Rocker, a company that has an enviable slate of premium scripted and documentary feature content that appeals to both traditional and emerging platforms.”
Selig will be responsible for shopping a slate that includes upcoming sci-fi thriller Beacon 23 for Spectrum/AMC, action-drama Robyn Hood for Corus, comedy Slip for Roku, sci-fi drama Orphan Black: Echoes for AMC, and feature documentary Le Bal: A Modern Debutante.
“As Boat Rocker continues its growth as a leading supplier of premium global content, we’re excited to have Dan join the team,” said Rutherford. “With a deep understanding of the television landscape, Dan brings a wealth of experience and will be an invaluable asset to lead U.S. and Latin America sales for Boat Rocker’s owned and acquired series and documentaries.”
