Lionsgate signs global distribution boss Jim Packer to extended deal
Lionsgate’s Jim Packer has struck a new long-term employment agreement to remain in his role as president of worldwide TV distribution.
Over the course of the year, Packer has set in place a worldwide television distribution leadership team that includes president of international TV & digital distribution Agapy Kapouranis; president of comestic TV & digital distribution Ryan Lowerre; EVP of international TV & digital distribution Chase Brisbin; EVP of domestic TV & digital distribution Kate Nexon and EVP of worldwide TV marketing Suzy Feldman.
During Packer’s tenure, Lionsgate’s 17,000-title film & television library has nearly doubled its revenue to almost $800 million last year, according to Lionsgate.
Before joining Lionsgate in 2011, Packer served as president of MGM’s worldwide television and digital operations. Prior to that, he was an executive with The Walt Disney Company managing the distribution and syndication of Disney content.
The agreement comes as Lionsgate continues to grow its global distribution business with licensing deals for the John Wick TV origin story The Continental at Peacock, the comedy Ghosts at Paramount+ and Schitt’s Creek at Hulu.
“Jim and his team have built Lionsgate into a global licensing powerhouse whose content touches virtually every platform in the world,” said Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer.
“He is a world-class executive, a respected leader and a trusted partner whose entrepreneurial drive and knowledge of the changing face of the content business will continue to be an important part of moving our Company forward.”
