Australia’s Seven snags local remake of BBCS format ‘The 1% Club’
Seven Network in Australia has ordered a local version of UK format, The 1% Club.
The show will be procued by BBC Studios Australia, with comedian Jim Jefferies, drafted into present.
The gameshow follows 100 contestants as they answer a series of questions, but to make it to the end and win the top prize they must correctly answer a question only 1% of the country would get right. It will debut on Seven Network’s Channel 7 and 7plus in 2023.
The 1% Club is a format created by Magnum Media and distributed internationally by BBCS. It launched in the UK on ITV earlier this year and has already been commissioned for a second season.
The format has also been licenced to France Televisions in France, Kan in Israel, RTL in the Netherlands, Atresmedia in Spain and SevenOne Entertainment Group in Germany.
