Amazon Studios hires Initial co-MD amid unscripted expansion

Cat Lynch, the co-MD of Banijay UK factual label Initial, is joining Amazon Studios as UK unscripted executive.

Lynch will move to the company early next year and will work alongside Amazon’s head of UK originals, Dan Grabiner, and Fozia Khan, who heads up the UK unscripted team across documentaries, fact-ent and entertainment.

Lynch has served as co-MD of Initial since 2018, during which time she has launched shows including MTV’s The Royal World, Discovery+’s Beauty And The Geek and the upcoming Big Brother relaunch for ITV2.

She first joined the company a decade ago as head of development and was later upped to creative director before taking on her current position alongside Katy Manley.
