UKTV rejigs commissioning with Hilary Rosen remit extended to include scripted
UKTV has rejigged its commissioning team with a promotion for Hilary Rosen, who will now oversee all original content including scripted.
Rosen becomes director of commissioning at the BBC Studios-owned channels and streamer operator, with a remit that includes all original content, including comedy entertainment, scripted and her existing factual/factual entertainment responsibilities.
She will report to recently promoted chief creative officer, Richard Watsham, and will work across the editorial pipeline for all of UKTV’s services and content brands, managing commissioners and working with Watsham and chief programming officer, Steve North, on strategy.
Rosen, who was previously dpeuty director of commissioning, has been behind shows such as Taskmaster and Mel Giedroyc: Unforgivable, as well as Emma Willis: Delivering Babies, Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over and Big Zuu’s Big Eats.
She had previously had stints as creative director at Silver River and Lion Television, as well as a decade at BBC News and Current Affairs.
Watsham said: “With her role expanding, I’m confident that she will get the best out of the talented commissioning team and further grow the reputation of UKTV. I know she will continue to champion creative freedom, take bold risks and make sure that we are at the front of the pack when it comes to developing the next wave of brilliant talent.”
Rosen added that she was “looking forward to working with more indies and producers across both scripted and unscripted projects to deliver UKTV’s slate of exciting and innovative originations.”
