Netflix moves forward with Guy Ritchie’s ‘The Gentlemen’ spin-off series
Netflix has confirmed that it will launch the previously announced series spin-off from Guy Ritchie’s 2019 action-comedy feature film The Gentlemen.
Ritchie will serve as creator, co-writer, and executive producer on the series, and will also direct the first two episodes.
While the show will be set in the world of the original film, Netflix says that it will not follow the same group of characters. Instead, Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Serafinowicz and Vinnie Jones have been announced as joining the new cast.
Miramax has been in development on a spin-off series from The Gentlemen since 2020 and earlier this year there were reports that Netflix would take the project forward.
The original 2019 film starred Matthew McConaughey as an American drug boss whose decision to sell his UK business leads to violence and death. It also starred Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell and Charlie Hunnam.
