SkyShowtime goes live across Europe & sets CEE launch date

SkyShowtime has gone live in swathes of Europe, as the Comcast and Paramount joint-streamer revealed launch dates for its expansion into Central and Eastern Europe.

The service, which offers shows such as Sylvester Stallone’s Tulsa King and Yellowstone prequel 1923, will become available in Bulgaria, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Serbia, Slovenia and Montenegro from 14 December.

SkyShowtime last week went live in Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands, offering shows from across Comcast and Paramount brands, including Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Nickelodeon, DreamWorks Animation, Paramount+, Showtime, Sky Studios and Peacock.

Local original series, documentaries and specials will also feature, with the streamer hiring former BBC Studios exec Jon Farrar earlier this year to lead programming. Other shows set for the platform include crime drama The Calling, Gemma Arterton’s Funny Women and spy thriller Rabbit Hole, among numerous others.

Tulsa King and The Calling will become available from December, while Funny Women and 1923 will appear on the service from January.

The streamer, first revealed in mid-2021, will also offer movies such as Top Gun: Maverick, Jurassic World Dominion, Minions: The Rise of Gru and The Northman, among others.
