Nickelodeon sets one-hour ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ crossover special
Nickelodeon in the US has ordered the first-ever crossover special for its hit animated SpongeBob SquarePants franchise.
SpongeBob SquarePants Presents The Tidal Zone will tie together the shows SpongeBob SquarePants, The Patrick Star Show, and Paramount+ original Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years for a one-hour special debuting in 2023.
Described as a “multidimensional adventure deep below the ocean’s surface”, the special will follow the character GrandPat as he visits the different dimensions of the three shows.
“SpongeBob SquarePants Presents The Tidal Zone is a journey into an hour of television where two dimensions can become three, and French divers can wear black ties. Observe a tale of both comedy and caution, of satire and stupidity. Minds may switch, bodies may shrink, and robots may rise in… ‘The Tidal Zone’”, said Nickelodeon.
The special, which was previously scheduled for 25 November, has yet to confirm its new date of transmission, but will debut in the first quarter of 2023.
