Universal & ‘Cooking With The Stars’ outfit South Shore strike development pact
Cooking With The Stars and Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams outfit South Shore has agreed a development partnership with Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS) and Universal International Studios (UIS).
The deal, revealed at UK conference Content London, will see the Melanie Leach and Andrew MacKenzie-led firm work with the Universal Studio Group divisions to co-develop and co-produce a minimum of three “unscripted projects of scale” for the international market, with a focus on social experiments, reality and competition formats.
UIS said the partnership would allow South Shore “to tap into the transatlantic development resources across the two studios, as well as a rich library of universal IP and an unrivalled talent roster across the group.”
South Shore’s slate ranges from aforementioned Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams for BBC One and ITV’s Cooking With The Stars, to upcoming competitive property format Selling Super Prime, which is fronted by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills talent Paul ‘PK’ Kemsley and wife Dorit for Channel 4.
The news emerged during Universal’s panel session at Content London, where execs including Pearlena Igbokwe and Erin Underhill were speaking.
