Mediacorp & Taiwan’s TAICCA strike co-development pact
Taiwan’s government-backed Creative Content Agency (TAICCA) has partnered with Singapore’s national broadcaster, Mediacorp, to co-develop original content for international audiences.
The two organisations have struck a two-year deal, signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU), that “paves the way for both parties to collaborate on a range of projects to bring fresh creative concepts from script to screen in both Singapore and Taiwan, and beyond”.
The partnership was announced at the Asia TV Forum in Singapore today by TAICCA CEO Izero Lee, and Mediacorp CCO Virginia Lim and will see TAICCA invest in new content through government schemes, as well as skills development and training.
No specific projects have yet been announced, but the two organisations revealed that they will look to develop stories from indie writers in Taiwan, while Mediacorp will gain access to Taiwanese talent.
Mediacorp has previously partnered with Taiwanese production partners such as Eightgeman on the drama All Is Well and Screenworks Asia on Twisted Strings.
