Sundance TV, AMC+ investigate true crime with Anchor & Blumhouse
Sundance TV and AMC+ have picked up Look Into My Eyes, a new true crime docuseries from Anchor Entertainment and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Television.
Brent Hodge (Pharma Bro, I Am Chris Farley) is attached to direct the four-part series, which will debut on 4 May, and which Anchor CEO Ethan Goldman described as “the ultimate ‘stranger than fiction” story.”
The series explores the story of Dr. George Kenney and his fall from grace after 10 years as a beloved principal at North Port High School in Florida where he practiced hypnosis on students. In 2011, three teenage students died after a series of suspicious events. When a local media story questioned his involvement, the case exploded into global news.
The series investigates events leading up to these untimely deaths and the tragic aftermath as victims’ families, eyewitnesses, experts, and people involved attempt to unpack what really happened.
Blum, Chris McCumber and Jeremy Gold will exec produce for Blumhouse Television, alongside Goldman, Keayr Braxton and Brent Hodge for Anchor Entertainment, as well as James Buddy Day, Mary Lisio, Eric Cook and Vince Dale.
Anchor’s slate includes home-design series Capturing Home for Magnolia, Model America for MSNBC & Peacock, Look into My Eyes for AMC and History’s Greatest Heists with Pierce Brosnan for History.
