BritBox Int’l hires AMC & Starz execs to lead US acquisitions & partnerships
BritBox International has hired AMC’s Jennifer Moon as head of editorial & programming strategy, along with former Starz VP Liz Spaulding.
Moon will lead all North American programming strategy, content acquisition and content scheduling for BritBox, while Spaulding’s remit includes distribution and commercial partnerships. The moves follow the recent exit of Diederick Santer, who stepped down as chief creative officer late last year.
Both execs will be based in New York and report to Robert Schildhouse, the former Hulu exec who joined to oversee BritBox International in the US and Canada in October. Spaulding will also be reporting into Kerry Ball, BritBox Global’s chief acquisitions & commercial officer, who joined last summer.
Spaulding was most recently director of distribution at Starz, working across its multi-platform content distribution and strategic partnerships, and before that she was the first New York director for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.
Moon spent more than a decade at AMC, which has been beset by cost-cutting over recent months. Her most recent role was director of multiplatform programming strategy, developing windowing strategies for AMC Networks and its AMC+ streaming service.
Schildhouse said: “Both Liz and Jennifer have a deep understanding of the rapidly changing streaming landscape and excellent skillsets that will help BritBox continue to evolve and be the destination that premium British content fans flock to most.”
BritBox International, which is a joint venture between ITV Studios and BBC Studios, has been expanding its originals recently with co-production Stonehouse, Karen Pirie and 2022 hit drama, Sherwood.
