Exclusive: ProSieben, Radio-Canada & RTP snag Beta’s Movistar shows

ProSiebenSat.1 in Germany, Radio-Canada’s streamer ICI Tou.tv Extra and RTP in Portugal have picked up a raft of shows from Movistar Plus+, following its deal with German distributor Beta.

Sat.1 Emotions and Streamz in Belgium have picked up crime drama Rapa, whose first season follows a detective and a teacher who form an unlikely relationship after the mayor of their town is murdered. A second season is in the works.

Other deals include Streamz and ICI Tou.tv Extra picking up You Shall Not Lie, which is from Pau Freixas (Red Band Society) and has been produced by Movistar Plus+ in collaboration with Filmax.

Beta has also struck deals with RTP in Portugal and Nova for dramedy Supernormal, while El Inmortal – Gangs Of Madrid has been sold to Antenna Group.

The latter eight-hour series, produced by Movistar Plus+ and Telemundo Int. Studios in collaboration with DLO Producciones, was also sold to TV3 Group Baltics for Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Both series have been greenlit for second seasons by Movistar Plus+.

Rounding out the deals, Warner Bros. Discovery for Latin America and TV3 Group Baltics have acquired special ops thriller La Unidad, which is produced by Movistar Plus+ in collaboration with Buendia Estudios.
