DAZN names Eleven co-founder to replace Tonoli as chief commercial officer
Sports-focused DAZN Group has named Eleven Group co-founder Marc Watson as its chief commercial officer.
Watson will lead rights/content acquisition strategy and replaces Jacopo Tonoli, who is departing after 14 years with the company and seven in the role. His next move is not yet known.
The rejig follows the February acquisition of Eleven by DAZN, which also picked up US-based social media creative agency Team Whistle.
Watson co-founded Eleven alongside Andrea Radrizzani in 2015 and was CEO until being subsumed into the sports streamer.
Prior to Eleven, Watson was chief exec for the TV business of UK telco BT, where he devised and launched BT Sport, including securing its first ever Premier League rights.
Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN, said Watson’s “experience will be invaluable to us as we continue to innovate and improve the way people around the world enjoy watching sports.”
