‘Ninja Warrior’ service firm Eccholine expands into Malta to capitalise on tax incentives
Production service firm Eccholine is expanding into Malta to capitalise on the country’s tax incentive scheme.
Axel Boer, MD of Eccholine Malta, said the country had been chosen because of its local tax incentive schemes, “consistent weather” and “spectacular locations”. Shows including Game Of Thrones have previously been shot in Malta.
Boer added: “The Maltese authorities have created a financially very interesting framework to incentivise production on the island. Not only is it a system with up to 40% refund on eligible costs, but also, quite uniquely, this scheme can be applied to reality and entertainment programming.”
Eccholine provides production services to reality and entertainment formats such as Peking Express, Ninja Warrior and Desafio, The Box.
Boer continued: “We’ve been working hard in the run-up to today’s announcement. We’ve spent the last 18 months discovering Malta, getting to grip with all the rules and regulations governing the incentive scheme and building an extensive network of contacts, locations, accommodations and invaluable relations with the relevant authorities and organisations.”
