Netflix lands Ted Danson & Mike Schur for remake of Maite Alberdi’s doc ‘The Mole Agent’
Netflix has ordered a series remake of The Mole Agent, the 2020 documentary directed by Chilean filmmaker Maite Alberdi.
The eight-part untitled series reunites The Good Place duo Ted Danson and Mike Schur, with the former starring and latter writing.
The show will star Danson as a retired man who gets a new lease on life when he becomes a mole in a secret investigation.
The series is based on Albert’s Oscar-nominated doc The Mole Agent, which followed an elderly man who worked for a private investigator to explore claims of mistreatment at a care home.
Universal Television – where Schur has an overall deal – produces, while the creator is attached as exec producer alongside Morgan Sackett from their label, Fremulon.
David Miner is attached through 3 Arts Entertainment; Alberdi and Marcela Santibañez are exec producers via Micromundo Producciones; and Julie Goldman and Christopher Clements are attached via Motto Pictures.
