Apple TV+ orders Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson half-hour comedy

Apple TV+ is reuniting True Detective stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in a new half-hour comedy from Schitt’s Creek producer David West Read.

The untitled 10-episode show is being produced by Skydance Television and will be exec produced by Read, Harrelson and McConaughey.

The “heartfelt odd couple love story” revolves around a “strange and beautiful bond” between McConaughey and Harrelson, who play versions of themselves.

The show tracks how the duo’s friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell will exec produce for Skydance, with Bill Bost and Jeremy Plager.

The series is the latest collaboration for Apple TV+ and Skydance following The Big Door Prize, which debuts 29 March and is also from Read.

Apple TV+ has also extended Skydance’s Foundation into a second season, which will premiere this summer.
