VTM brings Banijay reality format ‘SAS: Who Dares Wins’ to Belgium

Special Forces: Wie Durft Wint

Belgian broadcaster VTM has ordered a local, celebrity version of Banijay adventure reality format SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Banijay Belgium will produce the series, which takes the formats into its ninth territory, and will be titled locally as Special Forces: Wie Durft Wint.

The show will follow 11 famous faces as they take part in demanding challenges, with only the best passing the selection process based on the elite special forces corp.

The celebrity recruits, which will include singer and presenter, Koen Wauters, ex-basketball player Ann Wauters, and politician, Georges-Louis Bouchez, will head to Morocco to face challenges overseen by four ex-Special Forces operators.

However, being in the Special Forces isn’t about who is the strongest or the fastest, it is about attitude and mindset. The show will find out which of these celebrities has what it takes.

SAS: Who Dares Wins was created in 2015 by Minnow Films for UK broadcaster Channel 4, with Banijay holding the global distribution rights. The format has previously launched local versions in territories such as the US, the Netherlands, Denmark and Australia.

Banijay Belgium, meanwhile, is behind unscripted titles such as Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and Hunted, as well as scripted titles GR5 and Familie.

Lucas Green, global head of content operations at Banijay, commented: “Adrenaline-packed, intense, and entertaining, SAS: Who Dares Wins already has a strong fanbase around the world. It is now an established global brand, but we’re really looking forward to seeing how its rich visuals and cinematic storytelling come to life in Belgium, taking the popularity of special forces to a new level.”
