Spain’s iZen adds Netflix alum Tatiana Hernáiz to boost international business

Spain’s Grupo iZen (aka iZen Group), part of Newen Studios, a subsidiary of the TF1 group, has announced the addition of Tatiana Hernáiz as international business and co-productions director.

Hernáiz joins the company from Netflix, where she has been manager of EMEA licensed series and co-productions for the last 16 months. Previously, she worked as sales manager at All3Media International for Iberia, Italy and Turkey. Also, at Passion Distribution and Banijay Rights, which gives her a deep knowledge of Europe, Lat Am, Middle East and China. Kitchen Nightmares, Undercover Boss and Liar are among some of the international formats that Hernáiz has worked on during her career.

Grupo iZen CEO Sara Fernández-Velasco said that “our company is growing and we need to add new executives to boost our business opportunities. Tatiana has a wide experience in many markets and in many genres, so, we are sure that she is going to bring big projects to iZen.”

As international business and co-productions director, Hernáiz will also work closely with Cacao & Cía, a joint venture production firm set up by Grupo iZen and Patricio Rabuffetti’s Non Stop to create and produce Spanish-speaking content for the global audience. Cacao & Cía, launched last January, has headquarters in Madrid and Mexico, with Pedro Dávila as CEO.

Hernáiz’s addition is the second that Grupo iZen has announced in Q1 2023, after Juliana Barrera was named executive producer for several projects in development. Born in Colombia, Barrera has accumulated more than 20 years of experience as creator, writer and producer, and has also previously worked at The Mediapro Studio and Caracol Televisión.

Among the latest iZen’s productions are Netflix’s reality show Insiders and Memento Mori, the Prime Video original drama series still under production, as well as documentary feature films La Última Lidia and Operación Brooklyn.

Grupo iZen is integrated in Spain by Zebra Producciones, BocaBoca, EuroTV Producciones, Hill Valley and Proima Zebrastur, IndaloYMedia, CAPA España and Newco. In addition, iZen is a partner with Imagic (Middle East) in the iZen International group, together with UK production companies Chalkboard TV, Storyboard Studios and Clapperboard. Madrid-based José Velasco is Grupo iZen’s president.
