Asian streamer Viu remakes hit Korean drama ‘Reborn Rich’ in Thailand

Asia and MENA streamer Viu is remaking hit Korean drama Reborn Rich for its viewers in Thailand.

The original show attracted global attention following its launch last year on Viu, with the story tracking an employee of the Sunyang Group who is framed and then betrayed.

The employee then finds himself in the body of the youngest son of the family behind the Sunyan Group and starts plotting his revenge.

Viu took global rights outside of Korea and China to the original, which was produced by JTBC Studios, the Korean prodco that owns Mare Of Easttown producer Wiip.

Reborn Rich aired on JTBC in Korea and on Viu across its Asia and Middle East footprint, which includes markets such as Indonesia, the Philippines and Egypt. The service is also available in South Africa.

Few details of the Thai version were revealed during the Viu upfront session yesterday, but the show has been set to debut in 2024. Other local series revealed at the same time include relationship drama The Outing and fantasy drama series, Shadow.
