CBS Reality seeks ‘Killer Evidence’ in Donal MacIntyre true crime series
British fact-ent channel CBS Reality has partnered with Emporium Prodictions once more with a commission for true crime docuseries Donal MacIntryre’s Killer Evidence.
The 10 x 60-minute series will follow the investigative journalist and criminologist as he examines 10 cases from the UK and US cases that proved that forensics will always uncover the ‘killer evidence’ which brings murderers to justice.
Each story is told first hand by the people who were there as the investigation unfolded, from the senior investigating police officers who were first on the crime scene, to the forensic experts whose scientific knowledge helped secure conviction.
Cases include that of the Camden Ripper, Anthony Hardy who killed three women: Sally White, Bridgette MacClennan and Elizabeth Valad, Stephen Nicholson’s murder of 13-year-old Lucy McHugh, and Mark Brown who killed Leah Ware and Alexandra Morgan in 2021.
The series is co-funded by Rainmaker Content, which will distribute the series internationally. Sam Rowden and Jess Rampling executive produce for AMC Networks International – UK.
The show follows previous series featuring MacIntyre, including Donal MacIntyre’s Click For Murder, Donal MacIntyre: Murder Files and Donal MacIntyre’s Released to Kill. Documentary feature, Life in Crime: Donal MacIntyre, is also currently in production and will air on CBS Reality later this year.
“We’re excited to welcome back CBS Reality favourite, Donal MacIntyre, to host the seventh series we have commissioned from Emporium Productions. We always strive to find new and intriguing formats to showcase Donal MacIntyre’s vast knowledge of the true crime genre.
“In this series he adds his criminology expertise alongside other top experts to provide in-depth analysis of the killer evidence,” said Sam Rowden, VP of content and production, AMC Networks International – UK.
The commission follows recent true crime pick ups for CBS Reality, including Killers: Caught On Camera, which is being produced by back2back productions.
