Apple TV+ adapts Cosmopolitan article with Jessica Chastain, Fifth Season & Anonymous Content

Severance firm Fifth Season has linked with Anonymous Content and Jessica Chastain on a new eight-episode drama for Apple TV+.

The Savant is a limited series that will star Chastain in a true story based on an article from fashion and entertainment mag Cosmopolitan.

Details of the article in question have not been revealed, but a 2019 feature by Andrea Stanley tracks the work of an undercover investigator known as Savant who attempts to track and take down online hate groups.

Melissa James Gibson (The Americans), who has an overall deal at Fifth Season, is attached as showrunner and writer, with Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land) directing and exec producing.

Chastain will also exec produce through her prodco Freckle Films, along with Jessica Giles, editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan, and Brian Madden, SVP of development for Hearst Magazines, who will produce. Stanley will consult.
