MBC & TV2 among royal doc deals
RTS (Switzerland), TV2 (Hungary), TV2 (Slovenia), RTBF (Belgium), TVP (Poland), MBC (MENA region) and Nelonen (Finland) have all inked pre-sale deals for Blink Films’ upcoming documentary My King Charles, with distributor Silverlining Rights.
Produced in both 1 x 60-minute and 1 x 120-minute formats, the film provides an insight into the new British king from his early years in the palace to major revelations on his playboy twenties, to his troubled first marriage, dubious brushes with politics, his role in smoothing recent royal troubles, and the future he now faces.
Bethan Corney, founder and MD, Silverlining said: “As we approach the Coronation, and interest increases globally in the new ,onarch, My King Charles provides the definitive account of his life, told by former girlfriends, lifelong friends and relatives and longstanding personal staff, many of whom haven’t spoken before.”
Netflix India renews ‘Rana Naidu’
Netflix India has renewed Rana Naidu, a local remake of Showtime crime drama Ray Donovan, for a second season.
The series, which debuted on the streamer last month, is produced by Locomotive Global, whose co-founder and principal Sunder Aaron talked to TBI about the making of the series last year.
Rana Naidu held the top spot as Netflix’s most-streamed show in India for its first three weeks of release from 10 March.
The series follows fixer to the stars Rana Naidu (played by Rana Daggubati) as he cleans up the problems created by his famous clients, while dealing with his own personal problems.
Fuse Media expands Freevee FAST deal
Fuse Media has expanded its agreement with Amazon to launch two additional FAST channels – Latino Vibes and OUTtv Proud –on its Freevee service.
The launch marks the debut of OUTtv Proud in the US and follows the launches of Fuse Media’s Shades of Black and Backstage FAST channels on Freevee last year.
“We’re thrilled to be extending our distribution deal with Freevee to include Latino Vibes and OUTtv Proud, and to be adding even more of Fuse Media’s empowering content to the Amazon Freevee portfolio of channels,” said Miguel Roggero, Chairman and CEO of Fuse Media.
