This Is Nice CEO Morten Mogensen to exit Fremantle-owned Nordic group
Morten Mogensen is stepping down as CEO at Fremantle’s Nordic group, This Is Nice.
His exit comes four months after Fremantle restructured its senior ranks in Europe by creating two new regional CEO roles, with Benelux chief Georgette Schlick and Paramount Global’s Jaime Ondarza taking the positions.
Those changes saw Mogensen report into Schlick, who was previously CEO for Fremantle in Netherlands and Belgium but added oversight of Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Poland following the rejig.
Mogensen, who departs 1 May, had been in charge of The This Is Nice labels since 2017 and retained oversight after they were sold to Fremantle by Viaplay in 2021.
The division includes Strong Productions in Denmark, as well as Norwegian outfits Monster, Novemberfilm, One Big Happy Family, event group Playroom, Rakett and Strix TV.
Swedish duo Baluba and Strix Television are also among the group, along with Grillifilms, Moskito Television and Production House in Finland.
Each label’s head had reported into Mogensen but TBI understands a rejig is in the works, with companies being integrated under Fremantle’s Northern Europe division, run by Schlick.
She said: “Morten leaves us having steered us through the acquisition of the This Is Nice Group and has been an invaluable support to us as we have welcomed our new colleagues to the Fremantle family. He leaves with our very best wishes for the future.”
