UK-based factual event Sheffield DocFest has revealed its slate for the 2023 MeetMarket taking place on 15-16 June.
The decision to move the MeetMarket strand to the start of the festival “gives marketplace participants and industry representatives the chance to enjoy the start of the festival’s opening night and weekend highlights, including the 30th edition celebration,” organisers said.
The selection includes 48 documentary projects, indevelopment or at production stage, to be pitched in one-to-one meetings to international and UK industry representatives and experts.
Shows have been drawn from more than 500 submissions and include work from Rodrigo Reyes, Ike Nnaebue and Sean McAllister. The projects in the 2023 edition encompass 34 countries of production/co-production: Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, India, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Norway, Philippines, Poland, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Ukraine, United Kingdom, USA, and Venezuela.
