Former ITVS exec Patrick Spence lands at Anonymous JV Chapter One
Former ITV Studios’ creative director Patrick Spence has been appointed MD at Chapter One Pictures, which is rebranding itself as AC Chapter One.
Former MD Sophie Gardiner is moving aside to take a first-look deal at the company, which is a JV between Anonymous Content, Casarotto Ramsay & Associates and United Agents.
She will work across the existing film and TV slate, with Spence taking on day-to-day responsibilities at the prodco, which is working on shows including Jack Thorne’s Best Interests and an adaptation of Aussie novel Boy Swallows Universe for Netflix.
Spence exited ITVSlast month after more than three years with the company, having set up a scripted studio at the company in December 2019 with the aim of developing and producing premium drama for the UK and international markets.
During his time there, he has served as the executive producer on the ITVX & MGM+ thriller series A Spy Among Friends, starring Guy Pearce and Damian Lewis, as well as the fact-based David Tennant-led drama Litvinenko.
Anonymous execs David Davoli and David Levine said: “Our international footprint remains a core focus at Anonymous and we are thrilled that Patrick Spence has joined the team to lead this next phase of AC Chapter One.
“Since its inception, the goal of AC Chapter One has been to share exceptional stories with a global audience. We are grateful to Sophie for her dedication and collaboration over the past few years in helping us to create something new and exciting, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in a new capacity.” Deadline broke the news.
